RE-ENVISIONING VETERAN TRANSITIONS IN A COMMUNITY CONTEXT 

The second annual national summit will examine how our nation’s service members, from all branches of the military, transition to civilian life. Proposals should focus on supporting transitions within one of the four track themes:

  • Community (examples include health and healthcare, military law, veterans’ discharge, and risk assessment)
  • Family and Children (examples include relationships, health, education, and family functioning)
  • Employment (examples include Veteran, employer, practitioner challenges, and proven solutions)
  • Higher Education (examples include components of success, support, guidance, and non-traditional student roles)

Please submit your proposal via email to Karl Hamner at khamner@ua.edu using the following guidelines:

  • Proposals for oral or poster presentations are limited to 500 words.
  • Please include a cover page indicating the title of the proposal, the names and contact information for the presenters, the format of the presentation, and the proposed Summit Track for the presentation.
  • Provide three objectives for your presentation.
  • Please additionally indicate the author, title, and the institution at which the research was conducted, when applicable.
  • Please indicate audiovisual and technology needs.
