Veterans Homelessness Summit, VA Housing Pilot Program Opportunity

A Veterans Homelessness Summit, held at the Columbus Ohio VA in January by Ohio Congressman Steve Stivers and Congresswoman Joyce Beatty with VA Secretary Robert McDonald, has resulted in an exciting NATIONAL opportunity to participate in a VA pilot program aimed at aiding homeless veterans through a “Hospital to Housing” and/or “Stayed Housed” initiative.

Proposal Overview

This project reflects a partnered effort across several Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Program Offices (Homeless, Geriatrics, Acute Care, and Mental Health (MH)), and is consistent with the overall intent of the VHA Integrated Care Plan and Blueprint for Excellence.

We are currently in a “proof of concept” phase of this initiative where we are requesting proposals from well-established and committed sites to further develop and refine their efforts within the limits of existing and re-purposed resources to inform a larger proposed pilot initiative in fiscal year 2017.

Applications are due by March 1, 2016

The attached documents provide background and technical information about the initiative.  This initiative is an outcome of the January Summit.
