Next Wednesday, May 12, is the Big Give at the Columbus Foundation. Non-profits who are properly qualified in the Foundation’s Power Philanthropy program are eligible to participate in this one day giving opportunity.
For those of you who support our effort to provide legal representation to our military veterans and active servicemembers who can’t otherwise afford to hire an attorney, this is a great opportunity to help sustain this project into the future.
This is the way it works: starting at 10:00 a.m. next Wednesday, May 12, anyone can go to the Columbus Foundation Website, follow the prompts for the Big Give, type in Ohio Military/Veterans Legal Assistance Project, or Operation Legal Help Ohio, and make a tax deductible contribution. If made by credit card, the Columbus Foundation will pay the credit card charges so that 100% of the donation goes to Operation Legal Help.
And the Columbus Foundation will match the contribution. It won’t be a full match, but the Columbus Foundation has committed $1.3 Million to the Big Give which will be pro rata distributed to the organizations depending on the gifts they receive. Please consider next Wednesday as the time for you to make some of your 2015 charitable giving.
And please share this message with friends and colleagues who share your concern to make sure that those who have sacrificed for us while in uniform get access to our justice system.
It’s a one day only opportunity for the match.
Thank you for your support.
